It was around four 0´ clock in the afternoon and the court trial against John Addison was still going on. "Mrs. Addison how long have you and Mr. Addison been married?" the prosecutor asked. "We’ve been married about ten years" Emilee answered. "How many kids do you have together?" the prosecutor asked. "We have two daughters Brooke and Madison" she answered looking over at her girls. "When did you first start to notice something was wrong Mrs. Addison?". "A few months ago when I came home from work and the right side of Brooke’s face was all bruised up" she stated. "What did Mr. Addison say happened?" the prosecutor said pointing at him. "That they were playing basket ball in the backyard and the ball hit her in the face" she said tearing up. "No further questions your honor" the prosecutor said sitting down. "Mrs. Addison" the defense attorney started, "Did you believe your husband’s basket ball story?". "Yes at the time" she said. "What changed your mind?" he asked. "All the times I would go out and come home to a hurt child" she said. "Did you ever think that maybe Brooke was just a clumsy child?" he asked. "I did, but no child would hurt themselves everyday" she said firmly. "No further questions your honor" he said sitting down. "Your honor the people call Brooke Addison to the stand" the prosecutor said as Brooke walked to the stand and swore under oath. "Brooke how old are you?" she asked. "I’m seven" the little girl said. "How old is your sister Madison?" she asked. "she’s only a few weeks old" Brooke stated. "Brooke who watched you and your sister while your mommy worked?" she asked. "My daddy” the little girl said looking down. "What would you do when your daddy watched you?" the prosecutor asked. The little girl looked over to her dad and then looked at the lady asking the questions. "Try not to make him mad" she replied. "Brooke a few days ago when you daddy said you got hurt playing basket ball, what really happened?" she asked. "My daddy hit me with a sandal" she said crying a little. The judge dismissed the jury so they could make a decision. While everyone waited outside the court room. The jury came back with the verdict guilty of one account of child endangerment and battery.
It’s been a few months since Brooke’s dad was arrested and she was very happy. It was around ten o´ clock on a Tuesday and Emilee just put Madison to bed as Brooke was brushing her teeth. "Ok Brookie bed time" her mom said as she jumped on her bed. "Mommy will you tell me a story?" Brooke asked. "Ok, once upon a time there was a little faerie and she was so sad because she couldn’t find her bed..". In no time Brooke was out. Emilee covered her up and turned off the light. Emilee was watching the news and a story caught her eye. "Tonight it was found that twenty inmates of Ashland county jail have escaped" a reporter said on TV. Emilee changed the channel and watched a show called The Golden Girls. Around twelve that night Emilee went to sleep. Around nine in the morning she woke up to Madison crying. She picked her up, put her in her play pin, and turned on her little musical toy. Emilee stepped into the hallway and noticed Brooke’s bedroom door was open. She walked over saw that Brooke wasn’t in her bed. Emilee checked the bathroom and the backyard where their dog was, but Brooke was no where to be seen. Emilee quickly ran upstairs and got Madison out of her play pin and ran across the street to her mother's house. "Mom!" she yelled entering the house. "I’m in the kitchen Hun!" her mom said as Emilee entered the room. "Is Brooke here?" Emilee asked. "No I haven’t seen her all day" her mom said. Emilee handed her mom the baby and called 911. "911 what’s your emergency?" a guy asked over the phone. "My daughter is missing and I don’t know where she is" Emilee said hysterically. "Help is on the way madam" the guy said as Emilee hung up. Ten minutes later cops showed up at Emilee´s mother’s house. A cop named Paller questioned Emilee and her other. "Mrs. Addison when did you last see your daughter?" Paller asked. "Around ten thirty last night I tucked her into her bed" Emilee said as he wrote it down. "And Mrs..." Paller said looking at Emilee´s mother. "Gold, Maggie Gold" she said. "Mrs. Gold did you hear any un usually noises from your granddaughter since she was put to bed last night?" Paller asked. "No" she replied.
"Mrs. Addison would anyone want to hurt your daughter" He asked. "No except her father and he’s in jail" she said. "Ok Madam do you have a recent photo of Brooke?" Paller asked. "Yes" Emilee said getting into her purse handing him a picture of Brooke. She had beautiful brown eyes and long strawberry blonde hair. "How old is Brooke again?" Paller asked. "Nine" Emilee said. Assuring them that he would do anything and everything he could to find Brooke he started to leave. Just as he got in his car Emilee was struck with a fearful thought. She ran to Paller´s police car. "Excuse me, but is there anyway you can check and see what the names of the escaped inmates are?" she asked. "Probably why?" he asked. "Because I think my husband might be one the inmates that escaped" Emilee said. "Do you think he might have kidnapped Brooke" he asked and Emilee shook her head yes. Paller said he would call her if he found out anything and drove off. Later that day Paller called Emilee with some bad news. "Mrs. Addison, I found out that your husband is one of the escapees" he said and Emilee just knew he had Brooke.
He pulled up to this driveway and yanked the little girl out of the car. He drug her inside and smacked her in the face so hard she almost spun around. "You little bitch I told you what I was doing was for your own good, you were bad all those times and I had to hurt you" he said smacking the girl again. Brooke knew not to cry or it would get worse. "Now you stay in this room and don’t you make sound or a move while my client is here" John said walking out of the room locking the door behind him.
Emilee was running out of ways to keep herself occupied while the police looked for Brooke. Maggie was feeding Madison when the door bell rang. Emilee looked out the peep whole to see who it was and it was officer Paller. "Officer Paller have you found out anything?" she asked opening the door. "No we searched around your house the other day and found this" he said showing her a locket. It had a solid gold chain and the heart on it was solid gold and it had a aquamarine jewel in it because it was Brooke's birthstone. "That's Brooke's, I gave it to her when she turned three" Emilee said crying. "I have some bad news Mrs. Addison" Paller started, "they're closing the case". "What?" Emilee said shocked. "It's been three weeks and no sign of Brooke or your husband, sorry" he said leaving. Emilee just busted out crying.
Brooke was once again locked in this room of a house she didn't know while her did was with another client. When he would have clients over she heard these moaning sounds and sometimes she heard women call her dad's name. All the little girl could do was hope and pray she would be rescued.
It’s been a year since Brooke was kidnapped by her father and the beatings have calmed down some. The last time he beat her was a week ago when she walked in on him and one of his "clients". "Ok Brooke I’m going away for two days and you have to stay in the house and don’t answer the phone, listen to me and I won’t have to hurt you" he said walking out of the house and locking the door. Brooke was watching TV when she saw a magazine laying on the floor. She picked it up and saw an ad that said "Live in abusive home or wanna runaway? Then come to Team Youth". Brooke saw the address and realized that it was only a street away from where her dads house was. She decided now was her chance. she gathered all her belongings and her teddy bear and put them in a bag. She took a loose leg of a kitchen chair and broke out a window. She climbed out the window and ran as fast as she could to the youth help center. When she got there she ran up to a woman behind a desk. ´Help! I’ve just escaped from my dad" Brooke said breathing heavy. They put Brooke in a small little waiting room and gave some food to eat. Brooke saw some toys in a box in the corner and played with a little Barbie doll she found in the box. As she was playing a woman walked in. She was very tall and had blonde hair that was put up in bun type style. "Hey Sweety I’m Gabriella Bridges what’s your name?" the woman asked. "Hi I’m Brooke Addison" Brooke said smiling.
"Well Brooke can you tell how you got away from your daddy?" Gabriella asked. "He went away for a few days and I broke out a window and came here" Brooke said. "Why did you wanna escape your daddy?" she asked. "He beat me" Brooke said fixing the dress on the doll. "What’s your daddy’s name?" Gabriella asked. "John Addison" she said. "Ok honey you stay in here and play and I’ll back in a little bit ok?" Gabriella said walking out of the room. "What’s the story on her?" a women asked Gabriella. "Father was abusive physically I’m gonna do I back ground check before we decide what to do" Gabriella said. Gabriella got to her office and started to do a check on John Addison. She found that he was an escaped inmate from Ashland county jail and was secretly a hit man. Gabriella decided to keep Brooke until they could find out away to get her safely home to her mom. Gabriella showed Brooke the room she would have while she stayed there and explained to Brooke that she was gonna live at the center and go to school there. Brooke was happy and adjusted really quick.
It’s been seven years since Brooke escaped from her father and came to Team Youth. She was very smart, straight A´s in the center’s school and she was semi popular. Brooke was sitting in her room when Gabriella walked in. "Hey Gabbie" Brooke said putting her clothes away. "Hey Brooke" Gabriella said sitting down. "Brooke I think I know away to get safely to your mom" Gabriella said. "Really? How?" she asked. "Well I still have to talk to her, but my sister Siren is your age and we’ll have to change your appearance and a few other things, but we can make it work" Gabriella said. "So you want me and Siren to switch places?" Brooke asked confused. "Yeah, but I still have to talk to Siren about it when I go to my parents house for dinner" Gabriella said. "Ok well let me know what she says I’m gonna go meet my two friends Amber and Sky in the movie room" Brooke said and left.
Siren just got home from hanging out with her friends when the phone rang. "Talk" she said. "Hey Siren it’s Gabriella, is dinner still on for tonight?" she asked. "Yep" Siren said. "Ok bye" Gabriella said and hung up the phone. Siren went upstairs to write some new songs for her all girl band ´Girl Attack´. As she was sitting on her bed writing a song her little brother Nick came in. "What Nick?" she asked. "I just wanna borrow your Eminem CD" he said. "It’s over there on my desk" she said getting back to her song. After she finished her song she decided to sing for a while to keep her voice strong. She put a Mariah Carey CD in her karaoke machine and starting singing. "There’s a hero...If you look inside your heart.." she sang for about an hour when her little sister Paris walked in. "Wow you sound good Sie" she said sitting on Siren’s bed. "Thanks Paris" Siren said putting up her microphone and CD up. "Mom wants you downstairs to help with setting the table, she said that Gabbie will be here in a few minutes" Paris said as Siren followed her downstairs. Just as they finished the table the door bell rang. Siren’s older sister named Stephaney answered the door. Siren couldn’t stand how snobby Stephaney has become since she found out she was the oldest in the house since Gabriella moved out when she was eighteen. "Hey Gabs" Stephaney said as she walked in. At dinner everyone was quiet except for Paris who was talking about a big math test she had coming up. "I’m sure you’ll do fine Paris" Gabriella said taking a drink of milk. After dinner Gabriella went to talk to Siren in her room. "Hey Siren can we talk?" she said entering the room. "Sure Gabbie" she said sitting on her bed. "Do you remember how I told you about that girl at the center named Brooke?" she asked. "Yeah" Siren said. "I was wondering if you told anyone that you were spending the summer at grammas" she said hoping she hadn’t. "Not yet why?" Siren asked. "Well I want Brooke to pretend to be you until we can get her dad arrested" Gabriella said. "How?" Siren asked. "I’ll help her look like you and all that" Gabriella said. After thinking about it a while Siren agreed.
Gabriella got back to the center the next day and told Brooke Siren agreed. "Ok how are we gonna pull this off?" Brooke asked. "Well we’ll have to die your hair dark red and you’ll have to wear green contacts" Gabriella said. "Anything else?" Brooke asked. "Well you’ll have to get a little tan and learn how to sing and dance" Gabriella said. "Ok so how long do we have?" Brooke asked. "We got two months" Gabriella said. She told Brooke to get some rest they were gonna start her transformation the next day. The next morning after school Gabriella went to Brooke’s room to get her ready. "Ok first lets put these green contacts in." Gabriella said getting the contacts out of a bag. Brooke put them in then they went into her bathroom to die her hair. "Ok now that we got the hair and eyes token care of let’s work on your tan" Gabriella said. She took this brown bottle out of the bag with the name Krome on it. "Here go in the bathroom and spray this on your arms, legs, and face and then rub it in" Gabriella said. After that Gabriella put a big black jacket on Brooke and a pair of sunglasses so no one would notice her when they went to the tanning salon.
They got to the salon and Brooke took a tan for half an hour. Then they went to this voice professor and booked classes for three weeks. Then they went back to the center and put Brooke on the dance schedule for two months. The next day at Brooke’s voice lesson the teacher had her sing a few songs to see what kind of voice she had. "Here sing this without the music" the teacher said. Brooke saw that the song was Mirror Mirror by M2M. Brooke started singing "Why don’t I like the girl I see? The one who’s standing right in front me.." after a few minutes of singing the teacher stopped her. "She’ll sound like Siren in no time, but how did you get her to let Brooke in her band without meeting her?" the teacher asked. "Well she knew Brooke was very nice from all my stories" Gabriella lied so that she wouldn’t blow their plan. After about an hour of singing lessons Gabriella and Brooke headed back to the center for Brooke’s dance lessons. After that Brooke went to her room to take a shower. Then Gabriella quizzed her on some stuff she needed to know about Siren and their family. "Ok what are my other siblings names?" Gabriella asked. "Your brother’s name is Nick, and your two sisters´ names are Paris and Stephaney" Brooke answered. "Ok, what is the one phrase Siren repeats all the time?" Gabriella asked. "You’re a class A pathetic" Brooke said. "Ok, what are the names of the four other girls in ´Girl Attack´?" Gabriella asked. "Terrie, Jaidain, Erin, and Kristie" she said. "What’s Jaidain´s nick name?" Gabriella asked. "Jade" Brooke said. After a few hours of quizzing Gabriella let Brooke go to the centers mall with her two friends.
While the girls looked at the clothes in the mall Amber asked Brooke why she dyed her hair red and started wearing green contacts. "Gabriella is having me switch lives with her sister Siren, it’s part of her plan to get me safely home to my mom and sister" she said. "Is that all she’s having you do?" Sky asked. "Well she’s having me stay tan and take dance and voice lessons" Brooke said. ´Wow I wish they could find my mother" Sky said. "I think your better off without her, after all she abanded you in a Wal-Mart store two years ago" Brooke said. "I know I just wish I knew why" Sky said. The girls talked and wondered around the store a bit longer. After that Brooke went back to her room. She sat and thought about her mom. She remembered the last time she even heard her mom’s voice. She told her a bed time story about a fairy who couldn’t find her bed. Two months went by and the big day came.
"Come on Siren" she heard her mom yell. Siren ran down the steps with her bag in hand. "Thanks Gabbie for taking your sister to grandma’s" her mom said. "Now Mom I might not stay this time" Siren said. Siren got in Gabriella’s car and they drove off. Gabriella dropped Siren off and picked up Brooke. "Now remember Brooke, just act like Siren and you’ll be fine" Gabriella said. They drove for about two hours and then Gabriella turned and drove up this pebble road. Brooke followed Gabriella to the door and Gabriella rang the door bell. A woman answered the door. She had medium length light red hair and green eyes. "Hey Siren I guess you decided to stay home this summer huh?" the lady asked. "Yeah Mom, she decided to spend this summer at home" Gabriella said letting Brooke know that was her mom for a while. Gabriella took Brooke upstairs and showed her around Siren’s room. "Brooke don’t worry you’ll be safe here while we hunt for your dad" Gabriella said as there was a knock at the door. "Hey girls I just made your favorite dessert a chocolate highway" their mother said opening the door. "We’ll be down in a minute Mom" Gabriella said as her mom closed the door. "What’s a chocolate highway?" Brooke asked. "It’s a bowl of vanilla ice cream with pieces of chocolate chip cookies, pieces of chocolate covered pretzels, bits of a Hershey’s almond chocolate bar, bits of a Snickers candy bar, and M&M´s and it’s all smothered in chocolate syrup, you’ll love it" Gabriella said opening the door and guiding Brooke downstairs. While Brooke tried her tasty treat she heard Stephaney talk about how she was gonna try out for the lead in the school’s production of Romeo and Juliet. Later that night Gabriella went and said goodbye to Brooke. "I’ll keep you up to date on your case" she said leaving Siren’s bedroom.
Brooke has been in the bridges home for three weeks and she was just starting to feel like she was Siren. "Mom! Mom!" Brooke heard Stephaney come in from school screaming and running into the kitchen. "What honey?" her mom asked. "I got the part as Juliet is the school play!" Stephaney said jumping around. "Great they’ve finally decided to make Juliet a dingy brunette" Brooke said making sure she said something Siren would say. "You’re just mad because no one would ever let a punk girl into a classic play" Stephaney said. "Your a class A pathetic" Brooke said and walked into the living room. A few hours later after Mr. Bridges got home he called a family meeting. "Come one everyone gather in the living room so we can get the meeting started" Marc said. "ok first off everyone Saturday is when Ashland High is having their production of Romeo and Juliet, so if you don’t want to go let us know now" Marc said. "I don’t wanna go" Brooke said. "Why not Siren?" Mrs. Bridges asked. "I never really cared to much for this story.. and the characters seem fake especially Juliet" Brooke said to make Stephaney mad. "Ok so Siren’s staying home Saturday night, anyone else?" Marc asked. "Well me and some of the guys were gonna play basketball at the park Saturday night" Nick said. "Ok so Siren’s staying home and Nick has a basketball game anyone else at all?" Marc asked. ´Ok well Stephaney why don’t you go call Gabriella and see if she wants to come" her dad said and she ran up the steps to call her. "Anyone have anything else to discuss?" Mr. Bridges asked. "Yeah daddy" Paris said, "I need someone to help me on my spelling words for this little compition we’re having in class tomorrow". "I’ll help ya kid" Brooke said and Paris followed her upstairs. Paris went and got her list of words and met Brooke in her room. "Ok Siren here you call out a word and I’ll spell it" Paris said handing the list of words to her. "Ok first word...sudden" Brooke said. "Sudden, s-u-d-e-n" Paris said. "Nope Hun sudden is spelled s-u-d-D-e-n" Brooke said making sure she heard the second d in the word.
Saturday was finally here and Gabriella just got to the house and she saw Brooke sitting on the porch bed type couch reading the latest copy of Seventeen Magazine. "Hey Sie" Gabriella said because her mom had just came outside. "Hey Gabbie" Brooke greeted back. "Hey Mom" she said hugging her mom. "Ok everyone lets go" her mom said as everyone ran to the car even Staphaney in here Juliet costume. "Ok Siren here’s twenty dollars for a pizza now go inside and keep the door locked" Mrs. Bridges said handing her the money. She went and inside and locked the door. She order a pizza with extra bacon and it took about half an hour to get there. After about two hours of watching TV she finally went to change into a pair of Siren’s pajamas. While she was in the bathroom playing with her hair she heard a smashing sound from downstairs. She grabbed a baseball bat from Nick’s room and slowly walked down the steps into the kitchen. Suddenly she felt a sharp pain hit the back of her head and everything went dark.
Brooke opened her eyes and saw she was laying on the cold floor of some type of cellar. She got to her feet and felt her head. She heard someone whistling and walking to her. "Well well well I think I hear my little girl" she heard her dads voice say. Brooke saw a hammer laying on a table next to her and picked it up. "I won't let you hurt me again!" she screamed. "Foolish girl you thought running to that damn center was gonna safe you" he said getting closer to her. Just as he got in sight she swung the hammer at him and hit him so hard he twirled around and hit the ground. She ran to look for an escape exit while she had time. She turned a corner and saw a door that led outside that was boarded up. She started to break away the boards with the hammer. Half way done she felt someone grab her hair. She elbowed him and hit him with the hammer again. This time blood went everywhere as he hit the ground. She swung the hammer really hard and broke the last board. She ran out the door and started running hoping to find a house. She heard a gun shot ring out and she hit the ground so she didn't get hit. She turned on her back and saw her dad coming toward her with a gun pointed to her. Before she could get up and run she heard another gun shot ring out and saw her dad fall back to the ground holding his arm. She looked behind her and saw two officers standing there one with a gun in his hand. She got up and ran toward them. When she reached them she saw Gabriella's car behind theirs. Gabriella got out of the car and ran up to Brooke. "You ok Brooke?" she asked. "I'm fine" she said as she saw the officer put hand cuffs on her dad. "We finally got him" the officer said as he called for an ambulance. The next day Gabriella helped Brooke pack her stuff up and they went for a drive. They drove up to this beautiful light blue house. They got out of the car and Brooke just stood there a while. "Just like I remember it" Brooke told Gabriella and they walked up a set of steps to a little white door and Gabriella rang the doorbell. A woman answered the door. She had semi thick long blonde hair and hazel nut eyes. "Yes" she said. "Are you Emilee Addison?" Gabriella asked. "I was I've went back to my other name I'm Emilee Moons now" she said. "Well Emilee I have someone who really wants to see you" Gabriella said stepping to the side and Emilee was speechless. "Hi Mommy" she said. Emilee grabbed her daughter and hugged her so tight she thought she was gonna stop breathing. "I've missed you so much" her mom said crying. "Mommy who's at the door" Brooke heard a little girl say. She looked and it was Madison.
It's been three years since Brooke was finally brought home to her mom and she was in her senior year of high school and just turned eighteen. Her sister Madison who is now eight just scored the winning goal for her soccer team and won the state game. Also Emilee legally adopted Brooke's friend Sky who also in her senior year of high school and who is gonna save money up to go veterinary school. Gabriella is still working at Team Youth helping young girls and boys. She also made Brooke the god mother of her newborn son William. Siren's band 'Girl Attack' hit big a year ago and are now on there nation wide tour. Brooke was so happy that after all the hell she went through life was finally good for her again.
