Fight Off Writer's Block

If you're a writer like me then you've had to do battle with the monster we call Writer's Block. We know that this monster can be a real pain when you're trying to creating a story, song, or whatever. That's why I'm writing this blog to tell you about "weapons" we can use to battle "The Monster".  The Monster can attack in two ways. It can either make your mind a total blank or even if you have ideas it can make it where you can't figure out how to put your ideas on paper no matter how hard you try. Ok let me introduce the weopans that we can use to battle The Monster.

1st Weapon: Read- Sometimes when you read books that are the genre you're trying to write in it can sometimes give you ideas. Make sure that if you do use ideas from whatever you read not to plagerize because that's illegal and very desrespectful to fellow authors.

2nd Weapon: Writing Exercises- Search the net or maybe look at some old english books from school and try doing some of the writing exercises they have. Sometimes in the process it might help the creative process move or give you ideas for writings.

3rd Weapon: Fan Fic Writing- Try taking a break from normal fictional writing and try your hand at fan fic. Fan fics are stories you write about your favorite movies, characters, actors, etc. If you do this make sure to let people know your not claiming the people in your story unless you made a character up.

4th Weapon: Watch Movies- Just like books watching movies in whatever genre you write can give you ideas but, just like I mentioned before if you use an idea from a movie make sure not to plagerize.

5th Weapon: Read Articles From Magazines or newspapers- Look at articles in magaizines or newspapers and see if they give you an idea for a story.

6st Weapon: Take A Break- I know for most writers taking a break sucks but, sometimes to defeat the monster you gotta stop wrting and eventually the monster will just give up and go away.

Make sure when you write not to do to many stories at a time because you'll over load your brain and give yourself a long term case of writer's block.

I really hope this blog helps all you fellow writers keep the monster at bay.
