It was the first day of school for all the students who attended Fairmont High. It was the last year of school for a group of friends who basically ran the school. There was Ameris Ashcraft, She was the head cheerleader and most popular senior in school, her brother Brandyn, who was the captain of the basketball team and senior class leader, his girlfriend Isabella Royal, captain of the volleyball team and co-leader of the cheerleading squad, her best friend Spirit Joshuntally, her childhood friend Erick Andrews, and his cousin Verity Jones, the school’s gossip queen. At around eight in the morning they all met at the corner to wait for the R.T.A. bus. "Hey Hun" Brandyn said giving Isabella a soft kiss. The bus arrived and the all sat on the front couch like seat together. The bus stopped at another corner were only one girl was waiting. Isabella recognized her as Melinda Keyes. A geeky girl that no one in her group liked. "Watch this" Isabella said sticking her foot out. Everyone watched Melinda fall to the ground and her books flew everywhere. The group laughed as Melinda gathered her things up and kept moving to the back of the bus. They got to the school and hurried inside. Ameris and Spirit went to the bathroom to freshen up their make-up. Just as Ameris opened her purse Melinda walked into the bathroom. They watched her walk into a stall. "So what classes do you have this year Spirit?" Ameris asked putting on reddish colored lipstick called berry fiz. "I didn’t look at my entire schedule yet, but my first class is with Mr. Sonders" Spirit said lining her lips with liquid lip liner called passion rose. Just then Melinda walked out of the bathroom and Ameris noticed she dropped something. She picked it up and noticed in was a journal entry. "Look Spirit" she said as she read it. The girls laughed and ran to the cafeteria to show Brandyn. "Hey Brandyn listen to this" Ameris said reading it to everyone at the table. "Dear journal" she started, "I don’t think I’ve seen a more cuter boy then Brandyn Ashcraft...he makes me smile and I know one day when god sees to it that I’m beautiful he’ll be mine". The group laughed until the bell rang for first class. Ameris and Isabella had home room together. "Hey Isabella look at this" Ameris whispered handing her the paper Melinda dropped. Isabella read the paper and did a little laugh. Just then the announcements came on. "Good morning and welcome back students" a lady said on the intercom, "Today you will go from class to class to learn who your teachers are and yes some of them will want you to do work today, also since all the summer fundraisers made so much money for the school our home coming dance is this Saturday...thank you and have a great day". After school Brandyn drove Isabella and Ameris home, but Isabella decided to hang with Ameris so she went to their house with them. Ameris and Isabella went to Ameris´s room and she checked her email. Isabella noticed Ameris had alot of emails from someone known as MailBoyhot56. "Who’s he?" Isabella asked not ashamed to be nosy. "Just some boy I know on the net who reads all my poems and reviews them on my myspace blog" Ameris said reading his latest review. "Hmm lets see" Isabella said looking at the review, "Dear Ameris... your newest poem touches my heart so...I felt like the poem was about our future together". "You’re nosy" Ameris said exiting out of the blog. "Looks like you have a internet boyfriend" Isabella said just as there was a knock on the door. Brandyn entered the room. "Hey ladies I’m gonna go play ball wanna come watch baby?" he asked Isabella. "No sweety I think I’m gonna hang out with Ameris a little while longer" she said giving him a deep kiss. He nodded his head and left. As he walked out of his house to his car he saw Verity walking down the street. "Hey Vie" she heard him yell as she turned around. "Hey Brandyn" she said waving at him. "Look Verity, you’re not gonna mention what happened between me and you this summer to Isabella, are you?" he asked scared. "No it was a one night stand, she won’t find it" she said and walked off. He jumped in his car and drove off to the basketball court. "So are you gonna buy a new dress for the dance?" Ameris asked Isabella sitting on her bed. "I don’t know yet" she said thinking about it. The next day at school Isabella saw Melinda at her locker writing something in a journal type notebook. She walked up to her and pretended to accidentally bump into her knocking all her stuff out of her arms. She hurried to pick everything up before the bell rang. After the bell rang Isabella’s plan worked she forgot to get her journal. She picked it up and took it to study hall with her. Again her and Ameris had read it. "Listen to this" Ameris said, "One day me and Brandyn Ashcraft will welcome little Brandyn jr. into the world". The girls laughed. "I like this one" Isabella said. "I sat in history class again staring at the hunk of all hunks" Isabella said trying not to laugh to loud. After school that day Isabella, Ameris, and Verity went to watch Brandyn play basketball. As they sat in the bleachers Ameris looked over and saw Melinda setting in the other set of bleachers writing something down. "Looks likes she’s writing about her future husband again" Ameris said pointing to her. Melinda saw them staring at her and left. A few months went by and one day in gym Isabella was putting her stuff in her bag when she didn’t notice she dropped her little photo album. Melinda waited until she left the girls locker room and picked it up. Inside were several pictures of Isabella and a little solid black puppy. That day during history class the principal made an announcement. "Good afternoon students and teachers" she started, "I’m pleased to announce that this year our cheerleading squad will be put in the Ohio tournament...also I talked with the head cheerleader and try outs start this week everyday at two in the afternoon, have a great day". "So have you spotted any girls who will be getting your must try out cards?" Verity asked Ameris. "Yep, like this one girl is gym class her name is Amanda Leese and she’s a good gymnast" Ameris said writing the girls name down. "Hey Brandyn goes with you when you do try outs right?" Verity asked. "Yeah he loves watching girls shake their palm palms" Ameris said laughing. "I was thinking maybe you should send a card to Melinda, so she could embarrass herself in front of your brother" Verity said with a snobby little smile. Ameris wrote Melinda’s name down and some others. The next day at two Ameris, the squad, and Brandyn started the try outs. "Ok nest try out is Amanda Leese" Ameris called out. Amanda walked in and instantly had the look of a cheerleader. From her long golden blonde hair that was curled and put up in a pony tail to her cheery little smile. "Ok Amanda do the move that we do with the school chant" Ameris said. "Let’s go tornados" Amanda chanted as she did the cheer. "Ok thanks Amanda keep listening to the morning announcements to see if you make it" Isabella said as Ameris drew a smiley face by her name. "Ok next we have Melinda Keyes" Ameris said. Everyone looked at her with a little shock on their faces. "Ok Melinda I want you to do the same move Amanda did, but end it with a touch toe jump" Ameris said. Mlelinda did fairly well until the end when she landed flat on her butt. She looked up and saw everyone was laughing even Brandyn. She got up and ran off and Amanda ran after her. "What a loser" Isabella said laughing. At the end of the school day the principal announced the that first cheerleading tournament was Friday night against Amelia high in Cincinnati. So it was the Fairmont Tornado Squad against the Amelia High Baron Squad.
"Why do you even like someone as shallow as Brandyn anyway?" Amanda asked Melinda trying to comfort her. "I don’t know..wishful thanking" Melinda said laying on her bed drying her eyes. ´Well Hun, I gotta get going I’ll call ya later" Amanda said leaving the room. Friday came and Isabella just got home from school. "Thanks for giving me a ride Hun" she said kissing Brandyn very pionately and getting out of the car. As she got on her porch a puppy came running toward her. "Hey Brownie!" she said picking him up and entering her house. "Are you hungry baby?" she said walking into the kitchen. She poured Brownie some puppy chow and grabbed some pretzels and a soda for her. She sat at the kitchen table and turned on the little TV. She turned it to the Maury show. This one lady was on there saying that a friend of hers killed her daughter’s cat and Maury surprised her with a new one. Just as the show went to commercial her parents got home. "Hey Honey" they greeted walking into the kitchen. "Excited about the tournament tonight?" her mom asked. "Yeah I’m gonna go do my homework...wanna come Brownie?" she said as the dog jumped around excitedly. The dog chased her upstairs and into her room and it jumped on her bed. Isabella got her homework out which was biology and did it. Just as she finished she heard "You’ve got mail" from her computer. She went and checked her inbox. It was an email from what appeared to be a blocked screen name. It said "sender unknown". She opened it and it sorta frightened her. It said: Dear Isabella, By the time your tournament is over so is the life a delicious desert. The email didn’t have a signature or anything, but she kept incase she kept getting them. That night around seven Isabella got ready and left with Brandyn and Ameris to the school for the tournament. "Welcome to the Ohio state cheerleading tournament kick off" a voice said over the intercom, "our first squad is from Amelia High in Cincinnati!". The squad came out and did a school cheer. After the cheer they announced all the new girls and guys who joined. "Ok now ladies and gentlemen please welcome our squad" the guy on the intercom said as the Fairmont High Squad came out. They did their school with Ameris as leader and then their new members were announced and among them was Amanda. The tournament lasted about two hours and the last event was a captain vs. captain cheer off. Ameris absolutely stumped the captain of the Amelia squad. "Ladies and gentlemen the winning squad is the Fairmont squad!" the intercom guy said, "they will cheer against Willington High next week at their school!". Ameris, Isabella, and Brandyn walked to the parking lot talking on and on about how they beat Amelia. "Hey honey good cheering" her mom said hugging her. She told Brandyn she was riding home with her parents and gave him a kiss on the cheek. About twenty minutes later they pulled up in their drive way. They went inside and Isabella’s mom told her to go let Brownie in. Isabella opened the sliding doors that lead to the back yard. "Brownie!" she called, but there was no answer. "Here Brownie!" she called again stepping on the porch. She tried whistling while walking around the yard she turned to go back and her eyes got big. She started screaming and ran back inside. "Brownie’s dead!" she screamed running to her mother crying historically. Her father walked out into the backyard and there laid Brownie on the ground cut open. They called the police, but there was nothing they can do since they didn’t see who did it. They next day at school the whole group tried to console Isabella. "Brownie will always be in your heart sweety" Ameris said hugging Isabella. Melinda and Amanda stood by their lockers watching. "What happened?" Melinda asked opening her locker. "Someone killed her little doggie while she was at the tournament last night" Amanda said shaking her head. The bell rang for homeroom and every walked with Isabella to class. "Good morning students" the principal came over the intercom, "first let me congratulate our cheerleading squad on winning the first round of the tournament last night". Everyone in the class starts to cheer. "Ok with that said our first basketball game is Thursday night and we are going against Oakwood High...also today at three there will be a cheerleading practice and also try outs for track on the football field thank you" the principal said ending her announcements. "Why don’t you try out for the track team? you’re a good runner" Amanda asked Melinda. "I might" she said as the bell rung. After school at practice Ameris let Isabella sit out and Brandyn sat there with her to comfort her. "Ok let’s get three of our try outs on the starting line" Isabella heard the track couch say. She looked over and saw that Melinda was one of the runners trying out. She also saw Amanda in the bleachers cheering her on. "Amanda hangs out with her?" Isabella said giving a look of disgust. "Ready? Set? Go!" the coach said and the runners took off. Isabella was amazed by how fast Melinda was.
After dropping Isabella off at home Brandyn went home to do some studying for an English text he had coming up on Friday. He had to keep his grades up so he could stay on the basketball team. He entered his room and threw his bag on his bed. He sat down on his soft computer chair and signed into his AOL account. As soon as he was signed he heard "You’ve got mail". He checked his inbox and the letter was from an unknown sender. He opened it and it was a weird message. Dear Brandyn, nydnarB I lliw truh ouy yadsruhT thgin. Brandyn thought it was just a chain letter type thing and ignored it. Thursday finally came and Melinda and Amanda were doing there English homework in the school library. "I can’t believe Mrs. McNair wants us to do definitions and sentences for two-hundred words" Amanda said getting up and going to a shelf that had tons of dictionaries. As she grabs two of the biggest ones they have Spirit appears in the isle. Amanda snapped a look at her. She looked like a porcelain barbie doll. Her long coal black hair up in a braided pony tail, her aqua green eyes twinkling, and her perfect peach colored skin that seemed to glow. "Hey Amanda" she walked up to her. "Hi Spirit" she said trying to balance the weight of the dictionaries. "So I see you’re friends with Melinda Keyes" Spirit said wasting no time getting to her point. "Yeah since third grade" Amanda firmly stated. "Well there’s a problem with that Hun" Spirit said. "What’s that?" Amanda asked irritated. "She’s a geek and you’re a cheerleading beauty, get it" Spirit said and walked away. Amanda walked back to the table and Melinda could tell she was a little mad. "What’s wrong Hun?" Melinda asked. "Spirit Joshuntally just said that I shouldn’t hang out with you because I’m on the Cheerleading squad" she said in a sorta loud voice. That night Brandyn and Ameris got to school around seven and the game started at seven thirty. "Ladies, gentlemen, students, and teachers please welcome our cheerleading squad!" a guy said over the intercom as the squad came out. The did a new school cheer and sat down on their gold painted benches. As the basketball mascot came out Spirit looked over and saw Amanda talking to Melinda. "Hey I'm glad you finally came to see me cheer!" Amanda said. "Yeah, but I don't think Spirit likes it very much" she said as Amanda shot Spirit an annoyed look. Melinda said she was going to the bathroom and she'd be right back.
"Ok now that our loving mascot has entertained us let’s welcoming the Tornados to the court!" the intercom guy said as the team came out being lead my none other then Brandyn. The game had been going for about half an hour and Amanda noticed Melinda hadn’t been back yet. Brandyn had been playing really good and everyone was cheering him on. Just as he was about to make another basket this brick comes flying through the air and hits him right on his left knee and he goes down like a ton of bricks. Isabella runs to him to see if he’s ago. The coach called an ambulance to take him to the hospital. As Amanda was leaving to go home Melinda ran up to her. "What happened? why was the game cancelled?" she asked concerned. "Someone threw a brick at Brandyn" she said getting in her car and offered to give Melinda a ride home. Ameris, Isabella, and Spirit got a ride to the hospital by Spirit’s long time friend Erick. They waited in the lobby for what seemed like forever when brandyn´s mom came in. "Is he ok?" she asked. "We don’t know yet Mom" Ameris said hugging her. About an hour later the doctor came in. "I’m looking for Ameris or Sophia Ashcraft?" he said. "I’m Sophia, Brandyn´s mom" Mrs. Ashcraft said standing up . "Well it seems that the brick that was thrown at your son broke his knee in three different places and I’m afraid basketball is out for him for the rest of the year" the doctor said as the group sighed. "Can we see him?" Ameris asked. "Just family" he said as Sophia and Ameris followed him to were Brandyn was. "Hey Mom" Brandyn said a little groggy from the pain killers. "Hey sweety how are you feeling?" Sophia asked kissing his cheek. "I’m ok Mom, just a little weak" he replies in almost a whisper voice, "how bad is my knee?". "Well it’s broken in three places and the doctor said no basketball for the rest of the year" his mom said trying not to upset him. Just then a nurse came in told them Brandyn needed his rest. They both hugged him and left. The next day at school Amanda followed Melinda into the bathroom to fix there make up. As Amanda applied a fresh coat of light pink eye shadow Melinda brushed her hair. "Any word on Brandyn?" she asked. "From what Ameris told me he’s knee is broken in three places and he can’t play basketball for the rest of the year" Amanda said fixing her lip gloss. That day at cheerleading and track practice Ameris and Isabella had a hard time concentrating. "Come on girls! remember energy doing your kicks!" Ameris yelled. Amanda watched as Melinda ran around the track. "Come on girls we’re not doing anything else til your kicks get better!" Isabella demanded. After about an hour they let the girls rest. "Ok ladies here’s the deal" Ameris said handing out papers to everyone. "This is an exercise and practice schedule" Ameris said handing the last paper to Amanda. "Ok we recommend that you exercise for atleast two hours at home" Isabella said. After practice Melinda met Amanda at her car. She went to her house and as she starting exercising Melinda filled out a quiz for them in teen magazine called "Are You A Serious Romantic?". "Ok first question" Melinda said, "Ever written poetry or letters for your sweet heart?". Amanda thought for a second. "Yes" she answered. "Ok, ever sung mushy love songs to your sweety?" Melinda asked. "ha..no" Amanda answered doing stomach crunches. "Ok, which is better a walk on the beach or a dance at a night club?" Melinda asked making sure to mark her answers as well. After about an hour Melinda went home. The next day at school Melinda is at her locker and noticed everyone cheering and yelling. Amanda walks up to Amanda and shows her a pink envelope. "What’s that?" she asks fighting her locker. "It’s an invitation to Spirits big year bash" Amanda said opening it. "You are invited to Spirit Joshuntally´s fourth annual big year bash and you can bring one friend" Amanda said reading it out loud. "So who ya takin?" Melinda asked. "You duh" Amanda said as they walked to class. As they walked up a set of steps a boy bumped into Melinda and caused her to drop all her stuff. Before she could pick it up he apologizes and smiles at her. "Hey Melinda" he said sweetly and keeps running down the stairs. "Who was he?" Amanda asked. "This guy he’s name is Cyle and I think he likes me" Melinda said as the entered the classroom. During math class there is an announcement of a pep rally after final period. As Melinda is walking down the hall she once again bumps into Cyle. He looks and smiles sweetly his deep blue eyes twinkling. "Sorry Melinda...can I walk you to the rally?" he asked reaching for her hand. "Sure" she said and they walk to the gym together. The rally was your usual school rally with the cheerleaders cheering and dancing and all the sports teams being announced. That day after school Amanda teased Melinda about Cyle. "He’s not my boyfriend he’s just a sweet guy" Melinda insisted as Amanda watched her smile. Spirit got home around five and went upstairs to her room. She logged into her internet name and as she was fooling with her hair she heard "You’ve got mail". She looked in her inbox and at first there was the usual gossip on Celebes and horoscope type stuff. Then came across an email from an unknown sender. She opened it and it said: Dear Spirit, Innocence will be lost forever on Saturday Night. She thought the email was weird but, just shook it off. Saturday finally came and Amanda took Melinda shopping for an outfit for the party. the went into a clothing store and Amanda had Melinda try on a dark blue skirt with light blue trim. Melinda said she liked it and Amanda went off in search of a shirt. After shopping for about an hour Melinda and Amanda stopped off at a burger bar. There they saw Spirit probably ordering food for her party. "Well hey Amanda, hope to see tonight" Spirit said giving Melinda an evil look.
That night Amanda and Melinda got to the party around eight. "Don’t worry Hun if they bother you we’ll leave" Amanda said grabbing her by the arm and leading her inside. They got inside and Ameris waved for Amanda to come over. "Go on I’ll just walk around" Melinda said assuring her friend it was ok. "Hey Amanda" Ameris greeted as she walked up to her. "So who did you bring?" Ameris asked. "Melinda" Amanda said letting Ameris know she didn’t care what she thought by her tone. "Ok aren’t you ashamed to be seen with such a geek?" Spirit asked walking up to her and Ameris. "No Melinda isn’t a geek, plus she’s like a sister to me" Amanda said staring Spirit straight in the eyes. Melinda watched from the kitchen doorway as Amanda talked to the two school snobs when she felt someone put their arms around her waste. "Hey baby" she heard a cute voice say. She turned around and it was Cyle. She kissed him very passionately and they danced together. That night Spirit was hanging out by the pool when she got this note. "Hey spirit! someone wanted me to give you this" a boy said handing it to her. The note said "someone is screwing around in your bedroom". She got up and started walking into the house. Later that night Amanda, Ameris, and Isabella were sitting by the pool talking. They were doing a "cute guy" chart when Ameris noticed Melinda standing on the left side of the pool. Ameris walked over acting like she needed to talk to someone and "accidentally" pushed Melinda into the pool. Amanda saw it and came running. She punched Ameris and she hit the ground with a big thud. Just as she helped Melinda out of the pool Isabella came over and was yelling at her. "I quit the damn squad!" Amanda screamed and punched Isabella and watched as she fell into the pool. Just as Amanda and Melinda went to Amanda’s car to get a towel a cop car came driving through. All the kids started running and driving off. Later after everyone was gone the cops said that there was a rape reported there. "No one was raped officer" Ameris said just as another cop showed up in front of the doorway. "We found the victim and the perp" the officer said. The officer entered the room and saw blood all over the bed and on Spirit who was crying in the corner with a knife in her hand. There was also a boy lying on the floor dead in a pool of blood. Later that night while Melinda stayed over at Amanda’s they were watching the news when they saw Spirit’s house come up on the screen. "Thanks john" a reporter says, "I’m here at a house on Siginaw Street where a brutal rape took place...the victim is nineteen year old Spirit Joshuntally and the perp found dead is eighteen year old Cyle Sutherland". The camera shows Spirit being wheeled into an ambulance truck. "We have no information on why this happened or if the girl will be ok because she lost alot of blood and was badly beaten" the reporter said. "Wow" Amanda said looking at her somewhat calm, but shocked friend "You ok Hun?" she said putting her arm around Melinda. "I didn’t think he was that heartless" Melinda whispered her eyes still glued to the TV. The next day at school everyone was talking about it. "I can’t believe this is happening to us" Ameris said leaning against her locker. "Yeah first my doggie, then Brandyn´s knee, and now poor Spirit" Isabella said trying to hold back her tears at that thought of Brownie. "Well on a happier note Brandyn well be back tomorrow, but he'll be in a wheelchair for a while" Ameris said. In gym class they were running laps and Amanda never said word to Isabella no matter how much she put her down.
As Amanda walked out of the gym Isabella stopped her by stepping in front of her. "You know you’re gonna pay for what ya did right?" Isabella said snottily. "Move bitch" Amanda said and pushed her out of the way. Later that day Melinda was sitting in the nurse’s office because Ameris hit her on the head with a small rock. "Hmm well Melinda just keep this ice pack with you and just rest alot ok?" the nurse said handing her the ice. As Melinda came out of the nurse’s office she bumped into Amanda. "Hey you ok?" Amanda asked putting her arm on Melinda’s shoulder. "Yeah Ameris just hit me with a rock" she said softly putting the ice pack on her head. Later that day Ameris was in her room folding laundry when she heard "You’ve got mail". She went to her computer and checked her inbox. It said the sender was unknown. She opened the mail and read it. Dear Ameris, Wheels roll over the birther. She thought it was very weird, but ignored it. That night there was a basketball game and they were gonna welcome back Brandyn as an assistant coach. Brandyn was in his room doing his science homework when Ameris walked in. "Hey bro what’s up?" she asked. "No much studying for my science test" he said opening his book. "Nervous about tonight?" she asked laying on his bed on her stomach. "Yeah, but atleast I can boss the guys around" he said laughing. "I’m sure you’ll have fun" she said taking a copy of "Mistral’s Kiss" from his bookshelf. For some odd reason Brandyn was really into romance novels. They were in Brandyn's room for about an hour when they heard a loud commotion outside. They ran outside and Ameris started screaming. There in the middle of the road laid her mother. She had been hit by a car. The next thing Ameris knew she was in the hospital lobby waiting for a doctor.
A doctor came out about an hour later and told Ameris and Brandyn that their mom was permanently paralyzed from the waste down. Ameris cried for the longest time while Brandyn just sat there shocked at the news they heard. The next day their father flew in from New Jersey to stay with them. "You guys ok?" he asked hugging Brandyn. "I am, but Ameris is taking this hard" Brandyn said climbing out of his wheelchair. Their dad went upstairs to check on Ameris. "Hey Hun you ok?" he asked walking into her room. She was sitting on the bed looking at pictures of her mom. "Hey daddy" she said not even looking up. "Whatcha doin?" he asked sitting next to her. As he adjusted himself his eyes locked on a picture of his and their mom’s wedding day. Her mom looked so pretty that day. Since she wasn’t a virgin when they got married she wore a light blue dress with blue flowers in her hair. "You really love your mom huh?" he asked putting his arm around her. "Yeah, she’s like my hero" Ameris said looking at more pictures. "She’ll always be your hero honey" he said trying to cheer her up. Later that day Ameris was sitting on her porch when Verity and Erick pulled up. "Hey Hun just wanted to stop by and see if you wanted to hang out at the park tonight" Verity said sticking her head out the window. "Sure I need to get out of the house" Ameris said. "Ok we’ll pick you up around eight" Verity said and they drove off. "Hey sis can I use your laptop mine’s acting up?" Erick said entering the family room. "Sure" she said getting it out of the case for him. He logged onto his account and checked his email. he saw that the last one was from an unknown sender. He opened it and read: Dear Erick, A drug store kill. He though it was just some internet mess up and ignored it. Later that night around eight Ameris,Verity,Isabella, and Erick all got to together to hang out at the park. "Come on Ameris" Verity said as they pulled up to her house. Ameris got in the back with Isabella. "Ok Erick let’s stop off at Walgreen’s and get some beer" Verity said laughing. About ten minutes later they pulled into the store’s parking lot. "Ok Verity here buy two twelve packs" Erick said giving her a twenty dollar bill. "Ok girls come in with me" she said getting out of the car and the other two girls followed. Erick was fooling with the radio when he noticed a shadowy figure standing at the corner. He didn’t really think about it and went back to searching for some music. All of a sudden he turned his head and someone pointed a gun at him and shot him in the head.
A few minutes later the parking lot was filled with police cars and an ambulance truck. The next day Verity helped Erick’s mom plan the funeral. At the funeral only family and close friends showed up. "I’m really sorry for your loss Mrs. Andrews" Isabella said giving Erick’s mom a hug. Later that day the group took Verity out to try and cheer her up. Her and Erick were really close. They were practically brother and sister. "Verity cheer up, Erick wouldn’t want you to miss him like this" Ameris said hugging her. "Yeah he’d want you to find the heartless bastard that killed him" Brandyn said locking his wheelchair. "I know guys, losing him just hurts" she said whipping her eyes with her sleeve. "So what’s everyone’s pleasure I’m buyin" Brandyn asked looking at a menu. Verity got up and went to the rest room. As she was fixing her make-up her cell phone rings. "Hello" she answers in a whisper voice. "Hello..is this Verity" a creepy voice asked. "Yes..who is this?" Verity asked a little freaked out. "That doesn’t matter dear...what matters is you telling the truth or dieing" the voice said in an evil tone. "What?! who the hell are you?!" Verity demanded. "Listen either you tell Isabella you slept with Brandyn or I kill you" the voice said and hung up. Verity ran out of the bathroom and past their table. Ameris and Isabella ran after her. "Vie wait up!" Ameris yelled as Verity stopped at the car. "What’s wrong?" Isabella asked. "I just got a threatening call from some creepy person" she said breathing hardly. "Who did they sound like?" Ameris asked. "I could tell they were using a voice changer" she said trying to calm down. "What did they say?" Isabella asked. "They said if I didn’t tell you this secret I’ve had since last summer they’re gonna kill me" Verity said realizing she had to tell Isabella the truth. "What secret?" Isabella asked concerned. "Do you remember when you went away to your beach house last summer?" Verity asked. "Yeah" she answered. "Well I got drunk at a party one night and..." she paused for a second, "slept with Brandyn". Isabella was quiet for a while, but eventually ran back into the restaurant and confronted Brandyn. "Baby it was a mistake" he said trying to get Isabella to look at him. "Never mind this fling thing right now guys I think someone is targeting us" Ameris said. "What do you mean?" Isabella asked. "We all have had bad things happen to us right?" she said and everyone nodded their head. "Did any of you get weird emails or anything right before?´ she asked them. "Yeah I got a weird email right before my knee was hurt" Brandyn said. "Yeah so did I when mom got hurt" Ameris said. "I did too when Brownie was murdered" Isabella said. "Don’t forget the phone call I got" Verity said. "So that probably means the others did too" Ameris said.
The next day Ameris got the gang together and they all met at Erick’s house since his mom was a police officer. "Ok I found this in his inbox and it does sound like a threat" Mrs. Andrews said handing the email to Ameris. "A drug store kill" she read out loud. "The mailer was telling him they were gonna kill him that night" Brandyn said. "Let me see yours" Mrs. Andrews said reaching for Brandyn´s letter. She opened it and saw that all the stalker did was write the message backwards. "This really says, Brandyn I will hurt you Thursday night" Mrs. Andrews said giving it back to him. "Ok well luckly I can unlock this blocked name and find out who is sending these emails and doing these evil things" she said sitting at the computer. "Ok I'll sign into Erick's name and look for the email and then all I do is right click and push found source" she said it as she did it. "Ok I got a name..Melinda Keyes" as she said that name everyone got spookingly silent. "Oh my god! you mean Melinda's done all of this?" Spirit asked in shock. "It looks that way, do you guys know why?" Mrs. Andrews asked. "Well we do sorta pick on her all the time" Isabella said. After Mrs. Andrews dropped the gang off at the station she drove to Melinda's house. She knocked on the door and Melinda's mother answered. "Can I help you officer Andrews?' she asked. "Mrs. Keyes I'm gonna need you to bring your daughter down to the station" she said. About half an hour later Melinda showed up to the station and as she walked she saw Ameris and the others sitting in some chairs across the room. "Ok Melinda do you know why you're here?' Mrs. Andrews asked. Melinda looked her straight in the eye and smiled. "Because I finally got my revenge on the kids that have tortured me for four years". After having her write out her confession they booked her and her trail was sit for three days later. It's been two years since Ameris, Brandyn, Isabella, Spirit, and Verity have been back to their home town, but the nightmare they went through will always stay a reminder to be nice to everyone.
